  • High strength overlay plate with reduced thickness for improved fatigue properties.
  • Hardened steel backs on all rod bearings to improve the support of the bearing lining and assist with bearing retention in housing.
  • Increased crush for improved bearing retention.
  • Elimination of flash plating on the back of the bearing to improve heat transfer through the bearing sand to maximize the grip between the bearings and its housing.
  • Increased eccentricity to compensate for bore distortion at high rpm and to assist in the formation of hydrodynamic oil films.

Violent engine surges during quick gear changes are annoying and dangerous. If your turbo has been shimmed for more boost, sudden pressure surges within the manifold may cause intermittent fuel cutoff. In turn, this leads to violent engine vibration and an alarming drop in power. In the past, some people "solved" the problem by grounding the cutoff control wire. But this defeats the safety protection of the overboost system and can lead to destruction. The solution is not to bypass but control the cutoff switch. We’ve measured the amplitude and timing of these surges and built a filter that controls pressure spikes, resulting in smooth power and more driving fun.
